Commander+Pound handles a variety of complex, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death claims for plaintiffs. $753,000 jury verdict in 2009 for a wife whose husband died after being served the wrong meal at a metro Atlanta restaurant. The meal contained crab meat and the husband had a severe shellfish allergy.
$1,525,000 settlement in 2007 for a husband and wife injured in a head on collision by a drunk driver; the lawsuit was against the drunk driver and a restaurant under a dram shop theory for its negligent service of alcohol to the drunk driver.
$985,000 NASD arbitration award in 2006 against Atlanta stockbroker and national brokerage firm for mishandling of an elderly investor's securities account.
$1,000,000 settlement in 2005 for the widow of a 50-year-old man killed in head-on collision with tractor-trailer in north Georgia; settlement for insurance policy limits of truck owner was obtained within six months of representation.
$800,000 wrongful death settlement in 2005 for the widow of 56-year-old man killed in collision with a dump truck, believed to be largest wrongful death verdict or settlement in the rural north Georgia county where the case was filed.
$385,000 settlement in 2005 for 17-year-old who lost the index finger of his dominant right hand as a passenger in vehicle rollover.
Confidential wrongful death settlement in 2004 for the family of a 37-year-old bystander killed in a construction crane accident in north Georgia.
Confidential personal injury settlement in 2004 for 58-year-old woman injured in construction crane accident.
$750,000 settlement in 2004 for victim of road rage injured in tractor-trailer wreck resulting in a non-surgical herniated disc and closed head injury.
$3,750,000 settlement of wrongful death action in 2003 for the parents of an 11-year-old child killed as the result of defective construction of a public facility, one of the largest settlements ever for the death of a minor child in Georgia.
$8,000,000 wrongful death settlement in 2001 for father and son victims of a plane crash.
Confidential high-seven-figure settlement in 1998 resolving state and federal litigation on behalf of multiple victims of sexual molestation and abuse.
$450,000 jury verdict for driver and passenger injured in head-on collision where insurer refused to pay policy limits of $100,000 to settle the claim; clients ultimately recovered in excess of the defendant's policy limits based on the carrier's bad faith refusal to settle.
